Welcome to SLiGO, a comprehensive database of synthetic lethal (SL) interactions predicted using Gene Ontology (GO) annotations and synthetic network features. Synthetic lethality occurs when the simultaneous disruption of two genes leads to cell death, while disruption of either gene alone is viable. Our algorithm integrates multiple biological data sources to identify high-confidence SL pairs with potential therapeutic applications.

The core idea behind SLiGO is to provide biologists and experimental researchers with safe, reliable, and high-quality predictions through a user-friendly platform. The website implements the SlxGO+ algorithm, which integrates SLant protein–protein interaction (PPI) information, Gene Ontology (GO) information, and gene expression data from the Human Protein Atlas. The model is designed to prioritize precision over overall accuracy, with the goal of minimizing false-positive predictions. This approach is particularly important for identifying synthetic lethal (SL) interactions, where reliable predictions can help researchers prioritize candidates for further experimental validation.
